Don't be Afraid to Shine

Some of us have friends that want to outshine and compete with us... And some of us have friends that like talking with us about other peoples pain and misery, doing this to feel better about themselves and gain our agreement. These aren't the types of friends I keep... One friend wanted me to change my passion on a certain Black movie, he had a list of reasons why the movie shouldn't be viewed as a Heroic movie due to the violence in it. I voiced my opinion and haven't heard from him since, but Honey, neither of these types of people are really friends. There's no love lost on my end...

I'm not the woman I once was that would change my mind or my opinion to keep a friend. If you REALLY want to be my friend you will accept my opinion and accept me for who I am, as Jesus has. We can always agree to disagree... And I allow people to be who they are, and that's all I ask in return; allow me to be who I am.

Always speak positive to your friends and family and uplift them in whatever situation they're going through. Sometimes all they need you to do is listen... but don't give negative comments or agree to negative behaviors. Be the LIGHT in all situations. Help give your life a positive outcome.

If you're discussing something positive that you believe in and are passionate about, don't allow someone else's negativity to change your opinion on your passions. There's power in your passion and sometimes people are afraid of what you may accomplish. They'll tell you it can't be done, because THEY cannot do it! Don't let them live their life through you. Just because they're afraid to live passionately doesn't meant you have to be.

I know who I am! And I take responsibility for my truth!
